Northern KwaZulu-Natal (NKZN)
From Pietermaritzburg to Newcastle, Northern KZN has produced stalwarts who dedicated their lives to building non-racial soccer. The region is remembered for its administrators, visionaries, and players who fought against apartheid structures while advancing the beautiful game. Icons such as Norman Middleton, “Pops” Chetty, Babs Sitapersadh, and Bryan Rupram shaped the region’s proud legacy, combining leadership, integrity, and community spirit. Through decades of sacrifice and achievement, Northern KZN continues to stand as a pillar of South African football history.
Western Province (WP)
Established in 2013, the Western Province SA Fed Soccer Legends honour the rich legacy of non-racial football in the Western Cape. Rooted in the values of equality and community upliftment, the movement connects past players, coaches, and administrators who shaped the game despite limited resources during apartheid. Through reunions, tournaments, and youth coaching clinics, WP Legends celebrate football heritage while passing on skills and values to the next generation. Their ongoing work ensures that the achievements of SA Fed football remain an active and inspiring part of South Africa’s sporting story.
Gauteng (GP)
Founded in April 2010, the SA Fed Gauteng Legends quickly became a cornerstone of preserving non-racial football history in the province. From its early days, the chapter held commemorative events, assisted former players facing hardship, and promoted community spirit through sport. Partnering with organisations like Gift of the Givers, they supported orphans, ran coaching initiatives for youth, and honoured those who fought for equality in football. Over the years, Gauteng Legends has fostered camaraderie among players and officials, produced top-level talent, and contributed to grassroots football development in Federation areas. Their ongoing projects continue to blend heritage, sport, and social upliftment in meaningful ways.
Eastern Cape (EC)
The Eastern Cape, the second-largest province in South Africa, was the last region to formalise its SA Fed Legends chapter. Despite its late start, the province boasts an abundance of football talent, producing stars who excelled locally and nationally. Since 2023, the EC Legends have been revitalised through leadership committed to preserving the province’s football heritage, supporting grassroots development, and collaborating with local academies. With a proud history of producing top players and strong provincial teams, the Eastern Cape is determined to strengthen its presence in the national Legends movement.
